Securing Water for Food, a Grand Challenge for Development initiative, kicked off its first-ever photo contest with the theme of “The Nexus of Water, Energy, and Food”. The aim of the contest is to bring attention to water scarcity around the globe.

Submit a high-res photo via Twitter or email between now and Aug. 20 to enter the contest. Prizes for winners are: first place - $500 and submitted photo will be on the Securing Water for Food and World Water Week websites; second place - $250; third place - $150.

Online voting to pick the winners from the semifinalists will be Aug. 23 to Sept. 4. The winners will be announced on Sept. 5 in Stockholm, Sweden during World Water Week.
