Water glows blue in Hong Kong from algae bloom

posted on
A non-toxic algae called Noctiluca scintillans, also called Sea Sparkle, bloomed off the shores of Hong Kong, China causing the water to shine blue according to the New York Daily News.

This algae isn’t harmful, but it is caused by area pollution that can be harmful to the water.

 Fascinating!
