Louisville Water Company in Louisville, Ky. recently announced a restoration project of the interior of its Original Pumping Station No. 1, a National Historic Landmark. According to a news item distributed on the project, the goal of the restoration is “to bring the facility back to closely resembling its original pre-Civil War condition.” This project is set to be complete in March 2014.
A part of the project is a completely new feature to the Original Pumping Station No. 1, the WaterWorks Museum. By means of displayed photos, films and memorabilia, this museum will showcase Louisville Water Company’s extensive history of providing water to area residents.
We’re excited to see the Original Pumping Station No. 1 once the renovation is complete! Enjoy a "sneak peek" of the project in the below video.
