March 17-23 marks this year's weeklong celebration of promoting the necessity of checking plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks. This year’s theme is “We’re Chasing Leaks”. Across the United States, more than one trillion gallons of water leak from homes each year. This data is according to WaterSense®, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency partnership program, which spearheads the annual Fix a Leak Week.

We already have some great resources available to consumers to help in determining water wasted from leaks. Our Drip Calculator is an online tool that can help estimate water waste and to learn how much water could be saved. This feature can calculate waste for both a dripping faucet and a fast running faucet. Water conservation is also an essential component of safeguarding our water resources.
