How to bacon responsibly

posted on

Did you know you're not supposed to dump fats, oils and grease (FOG) down the drain? When FOG gets dumped down the drain, it clogs up the systems and causes unnecessary damage and repairs. So instead of dumping it down the drain, dump it in the trash instead.

Halifax Water in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada) put together a video about this entitled "How to Bacon Responsibly". Check out that video below to understand why we're not supposed to dump FOG down the drain and what it looks like when it does go into the system.

Check out our Caring For Pipes webpage for more information on this topic.
