Clean Water Services, a utility serving Oregon’s Washington County, is holding a competition this summer that will draw attention to the different uses for its water. The competition has been opened up to a dozen or so local home-brewers to brew beer using water that has come straight from treated wastewater.
The news station KXAN sums up the idea this way: “Instead of normal tap water to make their beer, the brewers will be using what was once sewer water – straight from the treatment plant.”
Clean Water Services declares the water that will be used is cleaner than typical drinking water because of their special purification system.
We are looking forward to hearing the results of this competition!
