The American Water Works Association's sections of Iowa and Alabama/Mississippi recently named the winners of their regional tap water taste tests.
For the Alabama/Mississippi Section, Anniston Water Works won as best tasting water. Anniston is in Alabama and draws water from two different area water sources.
For the Iowa Section, Keokuk Municipal Waterworks won as best tasting water. "Keokuk Waterworks is a state of the art surface water treatment plant that draws its water from the Mississippi River and utilizes a lime softening treatment process," stated the town's local paper.
These two winners will now go on to compete at AWWA's Annual Conference and Exposition at the "Best of the Best" Tap Water Taste Test to face off against other winning water utilities.
Congrats!
