Many believe New York's tap water really is the secret to the best pizza, and Top Slice Pizzeria in St. Petersburg, Fla. agrees. According to the Tampa Bay Times, it's the first restaurant in the state to install a New York Watermaker system, which is designed to replicate the tap water of New York.
Other Floridians swear New York tap water is the way to go too. In fact, Eddie & Sam's in Tampa, another pizza joint, brings in three pallets of New York water every three months for its pizza. And 18 Bagels Co., also in Tampa, has a water filtration system that mimics New York tap water.
Maybe it's New York City's water source or how it's treated, but the City gets it drinking water from reservoirs that are more than 125 miles away. To serve its nine million customers, one billions gallons are needed each day!
