As detailed in a recent post on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Big Blue Thread blog, EPA team members had the opportunity to rework the Girl Scouts' Water Drop Patch.
To earn this valuable patch, each Girl Scouts level (Daisies to Seniors/Ambassadors) must earn an individual rocker patch. Daisies learn about the water cycle, Brownies learn about groundwater, Juniors learn about watersheds, Cadettes learn about water careers and Seniors/Ambassadors learn about waters laws and ethics.
According to the Girl Scouts' website, "The Water Drop Patch Project inspires Girl Scouts to learn about water quality and to take action in their communities to protect and restore local water resources, including their local rivers, lakes, streams, wetlands, and groundwater."
