Thanksgiving water conservation

posted on

We like to post reminders before Thanksgiving about conserving water, since that is a big cooking day for many. The following tips are directly from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and are posted on DrinkTap's Water Conservation webpage:

  • When cooking, peel and clean vegetables in a large bowl of water instead of under running water.
  • Fill your sink or basin when washing and rinsing dishes.
  • Only run the dishwasher when it's full.
  • Only use the garbage disposal when necessary (composting is a great alternative).

Check out DrinkTap's Water Conservation webpage for other conservation ideas for around the house.
