Mow the lawn without wasting water

posted on

As we are coasting into the warmer months of spring and summer, now is a good time to get some tips for keeping your lawn healthy and green without using a lot of water.

According to an article found on the weblog Lifehacker, if you do the following four things, you can save water when caring for your lawn:

  1. Raise your mower deck up to at least three inches.
  2. Use the mulch setting.
  3. Keep your blade sharp.
  4. Keep your mower’s deck clear of buildup.

Read the Lifehacker article for more on those tips and to watch a video from Consumer Reports' YouTube channel. Also check out our Water Conservation page on DrinkTap for general conservation tips.
