According to an article by the San Jose Mercury News, many of these apps are aimed at making conservation fun and interactive for adults and children by use of games and quizzes. Other such apps concentrate on urging users to adopt various water-saving tips and to estimate water usage via a calculator.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, one such app, H2O Tracker, even makes it simple for users to inform authorities of “water-wasting neighbors” by taking photos of their supposed activities and sending in reports.
Drinktap has its own conservation tips to help consumers conserve water right in the home and outside. AWWA also has its own Drip Calculator that can be used to estimate water waste and for users to learn how much water could be saved.
