Turn off the lights to celebrate Earth Hour on March 29

posted on
Earth Hour is WWF’s annual celebration when people are encouraged to literally turn off their lights to show support in protecting the planet. This year’s Earth Hour will take place this Saturday, March 29 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in your local time zone.

As part of the worldwide event, households, businesses and communities are encouraged to turn off their non-essential lights for just an hour on Saturday evening “as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.” This event successfully started in 2007 when more than two million people turned off their lights for an hour to raise awareness.

Visit Earth Hour’s website for more information on this movement.
