The IIJA in action

The IIJA in action

In late 2021, the White House announced the Biden-Harris Lead Pipe and Paint Action Plan, which will distribute funding made available from the U.S. Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) to benefit you and your local water infrastructure by:

  • Reauthorizing several existing drinking water programs.
  • Greatly expanding federal funding for water infrastructure and related programs over the next five years.
  • Committing $15 billion for lead service line replacement.

It is exciting to already see water projects benefit from the plan.

One such project received a visit from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, who visited ongoing sewage upgrade projects in Easley. The project will connect the system to a bigger processing plant and extend the pipes to land for future developments.

“These resources are designed for communities just like Easley the heart beat and backbone of this country,” Regan said.
