Which water celebration should you commemorate?

Which water celebration should you commemorate?

Water celebrations everywhere, but which ones should I take part in?

You may be asking yourself that question if you’ve checked out our events calendar. The water sector seems to embrace the “work hard, play hard” philosophy, in that there are numerous opportunities throughout the year to recognize and celebrate the integral role water plays in our lives.

Whether it is “Fix a Leak Week,” “Drinking Water Week,” “Smart Irrigation Month,” “World Water Week,” “Source Water Protection Week,” or “Imagine a Day Without Water,” there are myriad opportunities to educate ourselves about different facets of water. It could be confusing to decide which and when to celebrate.

The truth is you should find the opportunities that particularly move you to participate. At AWWA, we certainly hope you join our “Drinking Water Week” and “Source Water Protection Week” events, but if you find yourself closely aligned or otherwise moved by one of the other events, by all means, raise a glass on those occasions.

The important thing is that we all pause now and then to recognize the world’s most precious natural resource.
