Every year the National Ground Water Association promotes Protect Your Groundwater Day. How can we protect our groundwater? According to the National Ground Water Association’s website, there are two ways we can protect it: keeping it safe from contamination and not wasting it.

We are all dependent on groundwater whether we realize it or not. According to the National Ground Water Association’s website, many of our water utilities get all or some of their water supply from groundwater, most surface water is connected to groundwater and 99% of all freshwater comes from underground aquifers. So, it makes sense to keep our groundwater safe because of how dependent we are on it.
