Willy Water, an AWWA mascot, has been taken down from a reservoir in Spokane, Wash.
according to the local paper, The Spokesman-Review. The structure, which stands 15 feet tall, has been in place since 1969. He is being taken down as part of a maintenance project happening at the reservoir.
Willy Water, who also has been called Willie Water and Willing Water over the years, was created as a character in the 1940s by AWWA. He has been used promotionallly since then.
So long Willy Water statue!
