The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department and AWWA's Florida Section have hosted a Model Water Tower Competition for area students for the last eight years. The event is held to educate students about the engineering field.
According to Miami's Community Newspapers, the most recent event, held last month, had 10 competing towers from three high schools and one middle school. The model water towers were judged on the categories of cost efficiency, hydraulic efficiency, structural efficiency and design ingenuity.
Congrats to all winners at Coral Park High and Palmetto Middle School!
