We can’t get enough reminders about how important it is to protect our water pipes during the winter, especially during those times when it’s really cold out.
The news station WTAE out of Pittsburgh has some good reminders from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority on this. Their suggestions include wrapping water lines that may freeze with fiberglass wrap insulation or tubular insulation, turning off the valve inside your home that leads to the outside water spigot and covering the outside spigot as well.
