It’s National Oceans Month

posted on
June is National Oceans Month! President Obama has declared this month as National Oceans Month through a presidential proclamation. Our oceans are very important to our way of life by providing jobs, offering recreation, drawing tourists, providing habitats for wildlife and the list goes on to their benefits.

As is stated in the presidential proclamation, “This month, we reaffirm our responsibility to keep our oceans and coastal ecosystems healthy and resilient.” So how can we do our part to make sure our oceans stay healthy? Here’s a very simply way: remember that water is continuously returning to the oceans for renewal, so it’s up to each of us to keep all waterways free of trash and pollution.
