The Plain Talk Series - #45

posted on

Today's question: Which uses more water, a bath or a shower?

"Plain Talk" answer: A full bathtub requires about 70 gallons (265 liters) of water, while taking a five-minute shower under a low-flow showerhead uses 10 to 25 gallons (38 to 95 liters). If you do take a bath, don't run water down the drain while it heats up; adjust the temperature as you fill the tub.
