Research findings recently published in Science Advances suggest much of Earth’s water may have come from comets in space.

A U.S. space mission that launched Dec. 15 will map the Earth’s water and collect data to help manage climate change. The mission will “conduct a comprehensive survey of the world’s oceans, lakes and rivers for the first time.”

A treatment system, called vermifiltration or worm-based biofiltration, utilizes countless earthworms to digest nearly all contaminants in wastewater without the need for chemicals.
